Volunteer Opportunities
Have we got a lot going on!
Being part of the school’s volunteer community is a great way to meet other parents and carers while enriching your child’s experience at TPPS. Nothing feels better than seeing the joy on the children’s faces and knowing you helped make it possible. Please reach out here through the Google form or speak with your class rep.
Here are the projects we’re working on and where we need your help:
Winter Fair & Panto – Planning is underway now and we need your help. See Be a part of the Winter Fair and Panto! for more detail.
Volunteer coordinator – We are looking for someone who can help us recruit more volunteers and pair talent to projects & tasks. We have so many lovely talented parents & carers at TPPS. This is a great opportunity to help grow an amazing community and play a key role in making things happen.
Winter Book Drive (Early Years) – Each year, around 200 books gifted to our nursery through Y2 children. We need someone (or a small team) to run this end to end.
Corporate Sponsorship & Funding – Several parents are already doing an amazing job securing raffle prizes and sponsors. This behind-the-scenes work funds a big share of what we do. Come join them.
Recycling & Waste Reduction – Build on recent success from our last two fairs. Looking for someone passionate about this topic, who can help during the events. A number of parents already involved. Martin will support integrating lessons learned from this work into the curriculum.
Resources Room Reorganisation – Essential behind-the-scenes work that keeps our events running smoothly, particularly as our initiatives grow in number and size. The resource room plays a key role in managing donated book stock for the library and classrooms.
Book sorting and library cataloging – We are getting loads of book donations, which is great. We need people now to help us sort and catalogue them.
Playground Improvements – Build a mud kitchen, repair the main climbing frame, and replenish sand pits. Join a small group of talented DIYers. No carpentry skill needed for loading sand 🙂
Water Bottle Refill Station – Looking for someone with procurement and project management skills to help Sam & John to keep the procurement process moving at a consistent pace.
Technology initiatives – We have several technology pilots in flight. One pilot is introducing children to programming through the use of physical computing and robotics. The other is helping the pond garden classroom with several tech initiatives – a Raspberry Pi digital microscope and some wildlife cameras. If you are familiar with Pi and physical computing and want to get involved in some exciting initiatives, please reach out.
Sip & Sort / Smart Swap – Help us expand these popular recycling and swap initiatives. A fantastic group to be part of.
