Be a part of the Winter Fair and Panto!
Our Winter Fair will take place on the 12th of December from 3:30pm – 5:30pm. We will assign shifts for managing some game stalls to classes closer to the date, but preparations for the fair have started now. On top of this, Tufnell Park Primary School is hosting a Panto this year. We will need volunteers to help sell concessions before the show and at intermission.

Below are the different activities that we are looking for help with:
Panto support team – Dates and times are as follows: 4, 5 & 6 Dec at 7:30pm + a 3.30pm matinee on the 6th. Looking for volunteers to help set up and sell concessions before the show and at intermission.
Books for early years – At the end of every calendar year the PTA gives approximately 200 books to nursery through Y2 children. This year we have a load of high quality donated books, which we need to sort through and wrap, along with ordering additionally needed books. This work is starting now.
Volunteer coordinator – Our summer fair had nearly 70 people offering to help. Our pond garden classroom volunteer day had 75 people. Volunteers have different scheduling demands, as well as different capabilities and desires. Recruiting and coordinating is a task in itself. Having one to two people who understand the tasks and projects currently in flight and can help match volunteer to task would be a huge help.
Raffle – looking for one or two people to help manage the raffle process, including organising playground sales & coordinating gifts when they come into the office, keeping the raffle tickets well organised during the sales, tracking sales, maintaining prize list, getting list to Martin for drawing and making sure prizes are distributed.
Recycling and waste reduction team – There is a fair amount of prep work needed to reduce the amount of waste we generate at a fair. Martin will help us make this initiative happen. Could involve some of the children.
Jolly Jars – Looking for one or two people who can own the jolly jars process – pick up in the office, labelling them, set-up the table and manage it during the fair. Each year members of the PTA create 20 or so additional jars as well.
Decorations team – Each year a small team works with teachers to get drawings from the children and hang them up at the event, as well as take them down. We also need help setting up fairy lights, decorating the hut outside, and setting up the tree corner in the canteen.
Arts & crafts – need someone who can help coordinate the A&C projects for the event, set up the stall, recruit other A&C enthusiasts to work the table. It was agreed that candle making was a hit last year and should happen again. We will also be doing cookie decorating.
Face painting – need someone who can help coordinate the face painting team and find other dedicated face painters for the day.
Reading room – Charlie is looking for another person to help run the reading room this fair. This includes coming up with the reading list, set up & break down of the room and of course, reading the stories. This is a magical room at the fair. Looking for one special person.
Pre-sales of tokens – Pre-sales of tokens happens a week before the fair. We need someone to take the orders from the token sales website, organise tokens into envelops and then distribute on the afternoon.
