Our class story this week is ‘Little Red Riding Hood’

Please read this text lots of times, until you feel able to have a go at retelling it off by heart. This story map might help.

In the story the main character, Little Red Riding Hood wants to help her Grandma feel better by taking her nice food to eat and by visiting her to cheer her up.

Can you make a poster to go in your window to make someone smile? Make sure you do not write your name on the front please.

This is a poster that another child at home has been making. They have been painting rainbows. This is a great opportunity to explore colours and get creative! Maybe you can send a card to somebody instead? What other ways can we cheer people up? Please upload your ideas so we can share them.

Little Red Riding Hood packs Grandma lots of nice food that is good for her to eat.

Can you find some food at home and sort it into healthy food which we should eat lots of and unhealthy food, that we should only eat a little bit of?

Now, can you pack a special picnic or snack to have somewhere unusual in your house? Maybe you can make a den and have a feast?

Little Red Riding Hood goes through the forest to get to Grandma’s house. What do you think she would hear in a forest?

Can you go on a listening walk? Use your senses. What can you see, hear, smell and feel? You could do this in the different rooms of your house and then when you go outside. Remember to be very very quiet. Can you draw the things you discovered?

Here is a nice story to help you get started:

Little Red Riding Hood goes on a journey. What is the longest journey you can go on in your house? Can you count the steps? What about the shortest? What different journeys can you go on?

In the story, the Wolf tries to trick Little Red Riding Hood. He pretends to be Granny. Can you pretend to be someone else by wearing their clothes?  Don’t forget to send me a photo and make sure you help tidy up afterwards. Have fun!!
