Week Beginning Monday, June 8th
Hello!
It was really nice to talk to nearly all of you last week and I’ll be trying to do so again this week.
Plan for the Week
You can find our plan for the week here.
Washing our Hands
With lots of people still getting ill from Covid-19 it is still really important to wash our hands properly. Here’s a chart of how to do it really well (from the World Health Organisation). I’ve made a video to help you which you can see on Class Dojo. Do send me your photographs of you doing a really good job washing your hands.
Book of the Week
Our Book of the Week this week is: Gorilla by Anthony Browne. (You can view the book here.) Anthony draws beautifully and this is one of my very favourite books – sad and happy at the same time.
Remember to read this book with your child every day, ensuring that they repeat key phrases of it or even the whole book. That way by the end of the week they will almost know it really well.
Song of the Week
Our Song of the Week is: The Clock Says Tic Toc. You can find the lyrics to here and a nice version of the song here.
Maths – Counting to 10 and 20
You will need 10 objects and then 20. First ask your child to count to 10. Then to 10. Then get your child to take one of the objects from the pile of 10 and place it in a line counting as they go. Do the same with 20 objects. If they can correctly to 20, then try 30, etc.
Letters and Sounds
I saw that last week lots of you are working really hard at Letters and Sounds, so keep going.
Here are today’s slides.
