Keeping Safe at Tufnell Park

We are grateful for your ongoing cooperation this school year as we have continued to respond to the challenges of COVID-19. To continue to keep everyone in our community safe and well, we ask that you report any positive Covid results to us for the first few days of the school holidays in order to identify any contact that may have taken place in the last few days of the school term.

We will continue to support contact-tracing for 5 days after the end of term for all pupils. This is so that we can identify any close contacts of positive cases who were in school while infectious and where test results come back after term ends. Your reporting of positive test results remains vital to our contact-tracing efforts. The letter details how you can help us continue to keep children and families safe over the school holidays.

Arrangements for Christmas reporting of positive COVID-19 test results

Thank you for your ongoing cooperation this school year as we continue to respond to the challenges of COVID-19. As the Autumn Term comes to an end, we are asking you to help us continue to keep children and families safe over the Christmas holidays. Please see the letter here for these arrangements.

At Tufnell Park, we are committed to keeping everyone safe, and want to remain open for all children during this lockdown period.

We are asking that all parents take into account the significant changes to guidance and strictly adhere to the following at pick-up and drop-off:

• Do wear a face covering
• Do keep a safe distance (2m) from other people outside your household, or outside your child’s class bubble
• Do drop your child at the gate if they are in Years 3-6

• Do not allow your child to mix with children from other bubbles or households in the playground or pavement
• Do not stay longer than necessary in the school playground, or on the pavement outside the gates

To help us eliminate congestion further, please ensure only one parent/carer comes onsite at any time. Any older siblings that do not attend Tufnell Park should not come onsite, and should wait outside the gates, or at home.

Children do not need to wear face coverings, but if they wear one on their journey to school, please remove it for them before they join their class bubble. Staff will also be wearing face coverings when meeting parents in the playground, but we will remove them for teaching once in class.

Though we’re back and getting used to the new ‘normal’, it’s still good to stay in touch with what’s happening at Tufnell Park. Have look at the most recent school bulletins here, or check out our news feed too.

Breakfast Club and After School Club

Our breakfast club provision will remain open throughout, from 8am. As space will be limited, please let us know if you need a place (if you haven’t already)

Hilldrop Community Centre will again be running after school care, and will collect children from school at 3:30. Again, space will be limited due to Covid restrictions.

Please contact Hilldrop if you would like a place.

We have been advised through the guidance that no after school clubs/activities can be organised during this time. We hope to be able to offer some after school activities again soon.

We hope you all had a lovely summer and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow – Thursday 3rd of September.

The double gates on Dalmeny Road will be opened at 8:45am. We are operating a one-way system so you will come in through the double gates at the bottom, and and leave through the single gate further up Dalmeny Road.

The start time for years 3, 4, 5 & 6 is at 8:50am and for years 1 & 2 is at 8:55am. Pick up will be at the usual time of 3:30pm.

Teachers will be excitedly waiting in their located spaces in the playground keen to greet their new classes.

If your child is in either reception or nursery, we will be in touch with you soon to let you know timings.

All children are expected to return to school as normal – we are adhering to guidelines to ensure the school environment is compliant with government safety advice. Of course the learning will be as exciting and as much fun as it has always been.
