Cultural Capital

Our Intent

Our vision at Tufnell Park is that every child flourishes into a resourceful, resilient and responsible citizen, developing the knowledge, skills and attributes required to thrive in the wider world. This is done through the development of each child’s Cultural Capital.

Cultural Capital is the accumulation of knowledge, behaviours and skills that a child can draw upon and which demonstrates their cultural awareness, knowledge and competence; it is one of the key ingredients a pupil will draw upon to be successful in society, their career and the world of work.

We embed this through the wider curriculum and through regular assembles, activities at school, celebrations of festivals in our Cultural Calendar, as well as attending a wide range of meaningful and purposeful school trips.

This is supported through Islington’s 11 by 11 scheme, giving us access to high quality cultural learning experiences and aims to place culture at the heart of children’s learning and development.
