Black History Month 2022

At Tufnell Park, we are proud to have a diverse curriculum and we have worked hard to embed Black History and representation across the school, throughout the year. However,  we also appreciate the significance of  marking and celebrating this month. Thus, we are excited to share with you the upcoming plans for this year’s Black History Month!

We will be learning about the experience of significant Black British figures and the impact they have on our society.

Each class will focus on a key individual, and map their background, achievements and impact on the UK.

At the start of the month, a world heritage map will be shared on the website with question marks to leave you guessing who the focused people could be.

By the end, the children would have developed their knowledge around the abundance of differences that make up our rich culture in England. They’ll also be able to detail exactly where those influences originated.

Expect to see frequent social media drops of mini ‘TUF-talks’ which delve deeper into our figures of the month as they take their place on the heritage map.

Click on the films, be curious and let your children tell you more!
